About the event
A guided tour lasting between 1h30 and 2 hours, to suit you, to discover the intricacies of the capital's most famous opera house, inaugurated on January 5, 1875.
Designed by Charles Garnier (1825-1898), following the very first architectural competition in French history, the Opéra Garnier remains one of the few buildings to bear the name of its designer.
Combining tradition (classical architecture and Italian mosaics) and innovation (polychrome marble and metal construction), the Opéra Garnier skilfully blends the greatest pieces of European architectural history, in the service of a spectacular conception of staging, where what happens outside the auditorium is just as important as what happens on stage.
